SATURDAY, APRIL 1ST SESSION
Creatively College Bound: Spoken Word and College Preparation
Creatively College Bound is Urban Word NYC's premiere college application readiness program. It provides workshops on writing powerful personal statements (stories), academic resumes, and supplemental essays. It also mentors students on how to obtain financial aid, grants and scholarships, as well as coaching them for admissions interviews, college visits and more; all the while using hip-hop and poetry as the inspiration. Erica Miriam Fabri wrote the Creatively College Bound curriculum and textbook and has run the program for 10+ years. Do you work with high school students in need of culturally relevant ways to access the college application process? Erica will introduce the intricacies of the CCB program, its methodology, and provide a few sample workshops for this training.
**Light refreshments will be provided.
